Leão Strikes Late as AC Milan Edge Cagliari 1-0 to Go Top of Serie A



    Serie A Round 18 saw Cagliari host AC Milan at the Unipol Domus Arena in Sardinia. In the first half, Loftus-Cheek went down in the penalty area and a spot kick was initially awarded, but the assistant referee flagged for offside. After the break, Rafael Leão scored the decisive goal, while AC Milan’s new signing Füllkrug made his debut off the bench. The match ended with AC Milan securing a 1–0 away victory over Cagliari.

   In the standings, Milan recorded back-to-back league wins and moved top of the table with 38 points, holding a two-point lead. Cagliari remain 14th with 18 points.

  • 45th minute: Loftus-Cheek dribbled into the box and went down under pressure. The referee initially pointed to the spot, but the decision was overturned after the assistant referee raised the flag for offside.

  • 50th minute: AC Milan launched a counter-attack as Fofana carried the ball forward and played a through pass. Rabiot delivered a low cross from the right side of the box, and Leão adjusted himself before firing home from close range to give Milan a 1–0 lead.
