Chelsea Make Bold Move: Rosenior Named New Premier League Head Coach
Chelsea Football Club confirmed on the 6th that it has appointed Liam Rosenior as head coach of the men’s first team. The British coach has signed a long-term contract running until 2032.
In an official statement released on the same day, Chelsea said:
“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Liam Rosenior as head coach of the men’s first team. The British coach has signed a contract with the club until 2032.”
Rosenior, 41, previously managed Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, guiding the club to European qualification in his first season in charge — their first return to continental competition in 19 years. Prior to that, he held coaching roles at Derby County and Hull City, steadily building a reputation as one of the most promising young coaches in the game.
Reacting to his appointment, Rosenior said he was proud to take on the role:
“I am incredibly humbled and honoured to be appointed head coach of Chelsea Football Club. This is a club with a unique identity and a remarkable history of winning trophies.”
He added:
“My responsibility is to protect that identity and build a team that reflects those values in every match, while continuing to compete for and win silverware. Being entrusted with this role means a great deal to me. I would like to thank everyone involved for their trust and belief. I will give everything I have to deliver the success this club deserves.”
Rosenior is expected to make his official Chelsea debut on the 10th, when the Blues face Charlton Athletic in the third round of the FA Cup.
